Profil HIMATAMA ITSB

     Honestly, in the beginning, we are thinking it was an impossible thing to do, the students of the smallest number major, just only 8 students want to create an association, “what a laughable things”, but the professor said we shouldn’t think like that. 

     In the mid of the 2nd semester (2011), in an casual conversation at the middle of lecture, one of the lecturer, Professor Rochim Suratman, suggest us to create an student society. We also created a name for our “newly born” association, and we choose name it HMTM – Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Material sorry no offense, it’s a reality ^^. And, in that day, we are agreed to create an association for the ITSB’s Metallurgical and Material Engineering, and it marks the beginning of the our association.

      One day, precisely on Thursday, 24 March 2011 we begin our talk about it. The first thing we change is our association’s name. Which we feel there is something wrong with it, because it just contain “Material” without “Metallurgy”, and in the fact, we are in Metallurgical and Material Engineering. We choose name “Himatama”, a name proposed by Tri Wiatno from 2011 as our new name. And then we officially renamed the association’s name from HMTM into Himatama (HImpunan MAhasiswa meTAlurgi MAterial). In the end of the 2nd semester of 2012, precisely on 9 June 2012 the ITSB students held an “Musyawarah Mahasiswa”. And in that day, along with the “Keluarga Mahasiswa” and 4 other association are “officially” created. And it also became the day Himatama was created in de jure. Sometimes in October 2012, we are contacted by representatives from PM3I (Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Metalurgi dan Material se-Indonesia), a nation-wide “alliance” of Metallurgy and Material Students

Lambang Himatama

Makna dari lambang Himatama ITSB ;

1. Tiga buah lekukan yang berkesinambungan melambangkan tiga sub utama ilmu dalam program studi Teknik Metalurgi dan Material yakni logam, polimer dan keramik
2. Warna biru menggambarkan keharmonisan.
3. Warna hitam menggambarkan keteguhan dan kekuatan.
4.  Perisai yang terpotong menjadi tiga bagian menggambarkan keinginan untuk mengimplementasikan tri dharma perguruan tinggi.
5. Tulisan Himpunan Mahasiswa Metalurgi Material (Himatama ITSB) menggambarkan identitas.

Semboyan Himatama ITSB adalah “Fortitudo, Fidelitas, Honestas” yang artinya “Kekuatan, Kesetiaan, Kehormatan”
